I received the email this morning that BU waitlisted me.
What are the chances of admission from the waitlist?
I heard that 8 people were accepted from BU’s waitlist last year. Really hope that is not true!
And does anyone have any advice as to how I can raise my chances?
Anyone else in the same boat?
I was also placed on the waitlist… Here is the data from last year. Its kind of depressing…

Total freshman applicants accepted from wait‐list 69
Damn. 69 out of 2,402 accepted.
It also says the waitlist is unranked, but how does that work? Do they just accept random people off the waitlist?
I believe that like Northeastern, it is based on availability within specific programs. Im sure they will also choose based off of peoples stats as well as off of applicants who have shown a lot of interest.
Same here but on the page it said I was put on a “short unranked wait list” to the cas. What do they mean by short wait list? Is this something I should be hopeful about or is it just misleading lol
I was also waitlisted and in my decision letter it mentioned the list being “short” as well (however, I applied to the College of Communications). I wonder if they’re just saying that for every school? And if they are, I wonder what that means. I hope it’s a good sign for us!
Hey everyone, I was waitlisted last year to BU and didn’t accept my place on the list. I decided to commit to another university; however, I ended up really not liking my current school. I decided to apply to BU again as a transfer and got in! Waitlist isn’t the end of the world, you’re still qualified, if you really want it and don’t get off the list, transfer in next year! Just got this.
“On behalf of the Board of Admissions, I would like to thank you for your continued interest in Boston University and for your decision to remain on our waiting list. Unfortunately, all openings in the Class of 2019 have been filled, and we are unable to offer you admission to Boston University.”
^^^Be suspicious of someone who creates a profile to post something like this.

@Redux19 I got this one too:( So BU wouldn’t admit ANY applicant from the waitlist now? Maybe results differ from program to program?
