Did anyone you know get off the waitlist?
One of my friends got a call 2 days ago and got accepted!
However, i thought the waitlist decisions come at mid May...
He's waiting on fin aid now.

I'm anxiously awaiting my own call...hopefully its a positive one :)

Yeah I got a call Tues as well :)
I've read on CC that a few other ppl got them so I'm thinking they did it so those who hadn't paid deposits to other places wouldn't have to, and to raise enthusiam for Duke if other students get off other waitlists.

Don't worry though, since this is before the deadline for accepted kids to reply, I'm pretty sure the majority of spots will be offered Mid-May. Good luck!!!

Yeah i got accepted 2 days ago as well! A friend had found out from the admissions office that this year they accepted a smaller number of people than they normally would have, but then they changed their mind and admitted the students that normally would have gotten in if they had admitted the correct number of students. So don't worry. There's still hope for waitlisted students.

wow if that is true that makes me feel better but still slightly "URGHHHHHH WHY COULDN'T THEY LET ME KNOW A MONTH EARLIER." lol, all's well that ends well I guess and I still love Duke.

By the way I am Trinity. Good luck to everyone still waitlisted on CC!!!

I think there is. I think at a school like Duke that is right below HYPS, and w/ all their financial aid policy changes this year, I think the waitlist will be used more then usual this year.

I just got a call/email today getting off waitlist, so there's still hope for others. I sent the reply card on like the 29th and no letter sent in either....

I am so confused now though! I finally got settled on Northwestern and now Duke (which I initially preferred) says they'll take me....lots of thinking to do

I'd say go with your initial preference, DHowdy...admissions decisions are way too arbitrary to read much into and if you preferred Duke then might as well go with it (though I am sure StrikeX2 will be happy to take your place if you decide otherwise, haha).

Honestly, I am extremely happy to be going to Notre Dame, but I got no financial aid and if i get some money out of Duke and get off the waitlist I might switch over, even though ND is my no. 1 choice, though Duke was a close tied for 2nd on my list (w/ Cornell).

Tadd...Duke must have been making a few calls this afternoon...my daughter just called from school saying she got a call on her cell phone a couple of hours ago...off the wait list and into the class of 2012! She now getw 5o decide between NU and Duke but I think she's leaning towards Duke. Congratulations to you!
