waitlisted...what now??

1500, 800, 760, 760, and waitlisted. Got into Rice ID if that means anything, maybe that was just a fluke, dunno. . . . hate being waitlisted . . .

wow. is it just me, or does wustl wait list schools like no other? (check out the Official Decisions thread--80% of the people at least are WL)!

wustly is using deceptive tactics to try and increase its yield, accepting underqualified students who will most probably go there while waitlisting those who may have chances at other colleges

please don't be bitter about my school. i'm a freshman here and i can simply say i'm amazed by everything this place has to offer. and everyone here is pretty damn nice and accepting, so i guess you wouldn't fit in anyway.

Sempitern I am not underqualified!!! And the school does however probably not accept the people they assume will not go there and it is just the fact that I am a legacy that is qualified that they felt they couldn't waitlist me.
I don't know what to say to all you waitlisted kids but my Stats are as good as ya'll's so don't call me basically stupid for getting in.

the point here their admissions guidelines are screwed up .. thats all

lauren, I am not calling you stupid I am just saying that washu's system is seriously flawed and is to its own detriment

ya but to call the acceptees underqualified was unnecessary. THey probably deserved it

yeah thats true, but most of the people that were WL deserved it just as much as they did...

I apologize for my harsh comments, they were directed to Washu. Congratulations to the people accepted.

Some said they noticed this and I tend to agree. It seems like a hefty slice of 1450+ kids got waitlisted. Then you have a hefty slice of 1350-1450 that got in. Then below that, you have 1250-1350 people that got waitlisted again. It's the layer cake analogy someone brought up.

To go48...there are PLENTY of 1400+ people that were waitlisted (me included).

To Bing...BIG difference between being upset at what we perceive to be slightly shady admissions dealings, and trashing the quality of the school (which no one has done that I've seen).
