<p>I was also WL with 1430 and a tough courseload and all that, but not really surprised since I didn't show any real interest.</p>
<p>Maybe they thought you weren't that interested in them and would accept elsewhere. Some top schools do that.</p>

<p>I was also waitlisted. I'm so depressed because WashU was one of my top choices, but I knew it was coming. my freshman year grades were despicable. So, I guess that I was lucky to even be considered for admission.</p>

I feel like I should've seen it coming too, I didn't show any interest either. I had an on campus interview and all that, but I didn't even send the poor girl a thank you note.
Plus, I'm assuming what all of you said was right as well - they probably expect us to get in elsewhere.</p>
