I’m an international student and I got waitlisted by two schools so far, Oberlin and Davidson. i think there’s more to come though, don’t have much hope anymore. anyway, what should I do about this? I mean i really need fin aid and since I’m borderline, they won’t give me money for sure. but it’d still be better if they accepted me in the end. so any suggestions?

My daughter was also waitlisted and since then we've learned that schools wait until May to see how will accept from their admitted students, and then, if they have emply spaces, re-assess the waitlisted students to see if they will take them. Since they admit more spaces then they have in the first place, figuring that a certain % will pick another school instead, they may end up with NO spots open to take the waitlisted people. I hope you had some safety schools, because many times you don't hear if you made it off the waitlist and are acdepted until June or July, I hear. So you have to either give up at the waitlisted school, or stay on the waitlist, accept at another school, pay the deposit, and decide whether to lose the deposit if you say yes to the waitlisted school, on the chance they do take you. I hope this helps some!
