waitlisted, will I get in?

I'm wait-listed for ENG COMP3. But I heard wait listed people for small classes like eng comp don't get into the class at the end. Is this true? Should I just enroll in other class? (other classes like physiological science. btw, how is that class with Roberts?)

Also, if I'm wait listed for a big class like math/chem class. I will get in right?

Thank you.

it really depends on the prof/class. You can expect a few drops from your math class after the first week of class. As for you eng class, contact the prof. Some small classes will enroll above the cap, others will stick to it.

If you’re waitlisted in a Math course, the Math department is usually generous in officially enrolling all waitlisted people past the enroll cap. They probably suspect that 3-5% of the class will drop after the first midterm anyway. As for chemistry, it might be a bit tougher, but I’m pretty sure you’ll get in with little to no problems.

English Composition is an entirely different story. As mentioned by the poster above me, I’ve heard that some students can go talk to their professors on the first day of lecture with insight on how probable a waitlisted student can get enrolled. I guess it doesn’t hurt to try to ask the professor when the time comes.

how about physics1a??? i am currently the 2nd one on the waitlist. The prof is ZOCCHI. thank you very much.

bad chance for engcomp 3, but for sure all the people on the waitlist for math, chem, and physics (excluding labs) will get in.
