What should I do when I'm waitlisted? I was thinking of sending a progress report or something.

When I was waitlisted, I sent a letter to my regional admissions rep updating her on what I had been doing since I sent my application in in November. I also told her that if I were accepted, I would be attending Rice. Don’t do this unless you can be 100 percent honest with that statement.

When can I expect to hear some news? All my admission offers will be by Wednesday. Any chance of hearing back from Rice this week.

Biomedical Engineering

I would write a genuine letter on WHY you want to attend and include all relevant NEW informaiton.

Are you still waiting to hear back from other colleges that you might prefer over Rice?

What are your 3rd quarter grades?

Have you won any awards or done anything significant since you applied?

Is there a teacher you had this year, a teacher who didnt write any of your previous letter of recs, who could offer a fresh look on your academic prowess?

AvidStudent’s right — I also reaffirmed my desire to attend Rice, elaborating at length upon the “Why Rice?” essay question.

Can I send it through e-mail?

@11Outliers11, I’m not sure if you saw my edited post. Anyways:
