Waitlisted students, HEARD ANYTHING YET?

HMMM???? im getting worried...

If you're on the waitlist, my advice is to forget about it for now. It's no use worrying about it, and if you do get accepted, it might be a while until you hear. I didn't get off the waitlist until the end of June.

oh, :(...because im going out of town in june...oh well i probably won't get in. did you do anything to improve your chances (beside write a letter)?

I'm also on the waitlist and I'm super anxious...i called the admissions office about two days ago and they told me that they wouldn't start calling people until after june, which is really disappointing/frustrating. don't know if i'm going to bother anymore...
do you know how many people are on it? or on priority?

were you on priority waitlist?

oh crap...that means they probably don't have that many spaces as of now...and no, i wasn't on priority...so I am probably not going to get in. >.< sighs.

I wasn't on priority waitlist, and I did absolutely nothing to help my chances, so I wouldn't give up just yet. However, I'd suggest getting comfortable with the school you currently plan to attend. Who knows, you may love it once you get there!

yeah, im gonna take rice off my minds now and am already in love with the school im going to (Cornell U), so even if they tell me I get into Rice in late june or something...it'll be a tough, tough decision, although i woulda picked Rice no question if they had offered me admission about now....

Rice > Cornell

me.duh DUHHHH!!!! that's y im waiting on rice...but im prly not gonna get it...

why do you want rice so badly?

I want to go to Cornell but it is too expensive. So, now I am going to Rice. I wish we could switch.

Cornell doesn't have anything on Rice. It's way too big, all the resources go to grad students, and is in Ithaca. I can understand wanting to get out of Texas, but going to Rice will be the best decision you'll ever make. People freaking love it here whereas people at Cornell are miserable.

i know....im from texas...and i prefer rice over cornell...lol

I was saying it to Karibu88, but at least you see where I'm coming from :)

killerqueen,
u mean, since they overenrolled, which is prob not the case,
they won't be calling from the waitlist until after june?
they prob will be calling people from the waitlist this month,
i doubt they overenrolled.

i know someone that's been waitlisted by northwestern that got in today. she got an email from them. i thought that was pretty quick...eeekkk...makes me really anxious about rice!

same here. three of my friends got off the waitlist at NW. normally,
rice should be doing more of that too

Ithaca reminds me of Dante's city of Dis.

Umm, i just got the worst news today

Rice enrolled 727 admits this year, and class size is 730...so not so much waitlist...:(((

check wikipedia if ya don't believe me
