There will be more taken from the wait list. the problem will be in the form of aid. The later you are picked up, the more you will be expected to pay.

What makes me mad is that I got a really great offer from a program to pay for any school that I go to which would have been great if I was going to NYU… we’ll see though, I’ll keep hope alive.

Did anyone get an email or sth? If you got off the waitlist, please post on this board…

They probably didn’t even get stats for # of students who accepted the offer among the 75s.

Anybody get anything new now that it’s 5/21/2012? And the “deadline” for the initial 75 is over? :O

yea it ended at midnight of 20th. Hopefully there are many spaces left for us.

I called today, they said the majority of financial aid has already been given out, and not to expect much, so if there is no way possible for you to pay for this school, you might as well give up hope now even if you do get taken off the waitlist. :[

They also said they are just now looking at the 75 accepted students from the first round and will be notifying any other students after June 1st.

I just saw the last year’s same thread and realized that there was virtually no one getting off of the waitlist for Stern… most of those who got off the waitlist applied to CAS last year… My guess is that the same thing is happenning this year…

I really gave up hope at this point T_T

My guidance counselor called my regional counselor on May 25th and he said they are probably not taking anymore people off the wait list. That’s a probably though so I guess the rest of us have a ~1% chance, if even that.
Also, does anyone know what are the chances if you got wait listed to one school in NYU but might get accepted to another school if there is no space in the original school you applied to but they end up liking your application?

I hope you are all having a fantastic day. So, I just found out today that I got into NYU’s Steinhardt’s School of Education. I was originally on the wait list for my desired graduate program. I don’t know if anybody out there has been in my shoes or might give me a little insight. After I had created my login to access “Albert”, their online “me” site, I browsed around and noticed that my financial aid package was not ready because of a required document. After looking at my “to-do list”, I was in shock to see that my citizenship status needed to be checked. Now, my concern arose after reading the paperwork which stated I had to two weeks to submit the documents to my financial aid office. Nowhere on the paper did it state a due date, so I’m assuming it is two weeks from today? There was no way for me to access the Albert website unless I was admitted into a program, meaning there was no way for me to know that I needed to submit my passport I was never contacted by FAFSA about needing to do this, so I’m just a bit worried. I hope that I’m in the correct in assuming it is two weeks from the day of admission, which is today. It makes sense that it would be from the day I got admitted, since it would be the day I would have access to my required documents. This is all just stressful lol. I have the Gates Scholarship, so I know that in the worst case scenario they would cover the full tuition without any grants. I just honestly need someone to ease me of this stress lol. It’s the memorial day weekend, so I won’t be able to call NYU until Tuesday morning. Any who, any suggestions or advice would be much appreciated THANK YOU!!!

Did anyone get a confirmation mail yet?

I filed out the waitlist form may 17th but still didn’t get a confirmation mail.

Is this going to be a problem?

Should I filed out the survey again?

Yes, it’s a huge problem. The waitlist form was due May 1. You don’t even have a chance now.

No, it’s not

I got a wait list mail on May 17th.

n it said its due by June 1.

Maybe only for freshman students due by may 1.

I’m a transfer student.

Did u get a confirmation mail from NYU?

@Stepanie

I am also a transfer student who got waitlisted. I didn’t recieve a confirmation email either. I called the admissions office and was told that they don’t send confirmation emails. The little confirmation at the end of the waitlist is the only confirmation that you will receive.

Out of interest, what school at NYU did you get waitlisted for? (CAS, Stern, etc)

Thanks…

I got waitlisted for stern school of business.

n I got confirmation mail today after I contact to addmission office in the morning.

They said that NYU had system probelm recently.

hopefully, there left a space for me…TT

Do you have any idea when they will come to addmission decision?

Did anyone already get off the waitlist?

What did the waitlist email look like? Did it say what your position on the waitlist is?

Where are you applying from? Do you know anyone else who got waitlisted?

We should find out around the second/third week of June, since most of the people who got accepted got on May 17, and they have three weeks to accept that offer. If not enough people from those who got in accept a space, that’s when they go to the waitlist.

An admissions officer told me that Stern didn’t accept a single person off the waitlist last year, and only took 2/3 people the year before. It’s not very hopeful =(

When did you get a waitlist mail from NYU?

Did you get it on may 17 just like me?

I have no idea what my position is, my email said nothing about waitlist position.

It just said that I was waitlisted for NYU…

n I just applied NYU from 2 year community college what about you?

Is there no more chance to get off the waitlist for stern?

OMG…TT

Yes, I got the e-mail on May 17th too.

I applied from a top 50 business school.

No, you can still get in off the waitlist. No transfer student has been accepted yet. The waitlist for transfer students and freshman students are different and independent of each other.

The earliest you can find out is 3-4 weeks after the people who got accepted, which was May 17th. So, you should wait until the second/third week of June before calling the admissions office again.

Anyone get a response for Undergrad NYU Waitlist?

Maybe something will come tomorrow?
