Waitlisted

@carpediem16 - Then I was given misinformation. My apologies to everyone following this thread.

It should be rolling from now until June 1st

@greengecko, how do you know that it’s decided by June 1st, the e-mail they sent with the decision back in March/April said that we could expect to hear back anytime between now and August.

I know someone who was accepted off the waitlist on Friday.

^To which school?!?

@cali, i called and asked. They said we should be hearing back in a few weeks starting then, going into the beginning of June. So maybe not exactly June 1st, but sometime then. It shouldn’t be anytime after June…or at least I hope its not.

Not sure which school, but probably CAS.

Yah! looks like I am SOL. Even with 2170 SAT score I am screwed.

Folks…waitlist notifications can come as late as July/August if some people pay their deposits, but then can’t make the tuition payments and decide not to enroll.

I just got into Tisch off the waitlist! So decisions are going out!

@missj212 – I know one of my friends from my high school got off the wait list going to Tisch as well.

@missj212 how were you notified? Did they email you or call you?

Just got an email from nyu saying that they already accepted 75 students off the waitlist…

Does this mean we virtually have no chance of getting in?

just got the same email. I think it means if the 75 don’t accept the wait list decision, they’ll contact the rest of the wait listed people.

Aw man :(

I just realized, we got wait listed again LOL

Congrats to those who got in though :)

I got an email.

Yeah, it’s basically saying our chances now are A LOT slimmer than before, since we were rejected from the first cut of the waitlist. If 74 people say “yes” to the the acceptance, there will only be one person out of all of us who will get in…hence the “if at all”

Email from NYU:

"Dear ********,

I am writing to provide you with an update on the status of your application to NYU. As you may have heard, we admitted some students from our wait list. In fact, we have admitted roughly 75 students from the wait list thus far. Those students have until May 20 to respond to their offer of admission.

As a result, we will likely not extend any additional offers of admission until late May, if at all. We will provide you with an update on your application status regardless of whether or not we will be able to offer you admission in early June. I can assure you that we will communicate with you either way. In the interim, please feel free to review our wait list FAQ if you have not done so already."

It’s probably rolling. And it’s started. Got the email at 12 PST today.

Are they serious…I am sure there are like 150+ waitlisted students out there still waiting…
I mean think about it. Now we have so much less chance. and yet we wont be notified until 5/20/12. really frustrated.

Did everyone from the original waitlist (from the email sent out late March) who weren’t one of the 75 get that email or was it a select few? I got the email.
