Waitlisted

i sent an email to the admissions office....here is what i got....

Thank you for your interest in Boston University. Information regarding
the waitlist should reach you in the next couple of days.

Sincerely,

Rachel McNamara
Admissions Coordinator
College of Arts and Sciences, Class of 2004

detroit vs miami game 7 tonight
who is going to take it?

Hm that is interesting. I just called the office of admissions and the guy said (as everyone has been saying everytime I call) that they will notify everyone around June 15. Everytime I call they also claim that they have no idea if they will be taking people or not.

hope thats a good sign for me? or could be that i have been rejected

so what are all of your backup plans? Ill most likely end up at Fordham

I would be going to UC Davis. And I don't think that them not knowing means that you are rejected. They aren't saying anything until they send out for everyone (I think), so I figure if they already knew that they weren't taking anyone they would have said, like many other schools.

I'm a transfer and my deposit is due the 14th. I can't believe they'd notify you that late. Seriously just send them a letter saying that if they offer you admission you'd accept. It worked for me when they requested my spring semester grades.

I already have, and I know that if you expressed interest as BU being your number 1 choice, then they put you on a priority waitlist or something like that.

I was rejected, I guess you can say, today. Since I live in Texas, I figured I would be the last to get this letter, but whatever.

Dear Miss Nielsen,
On behalf of the Board of Admission, I am writing to thank you for your continued interest in Boston University and for your decision to remain on our waiting list. Unfortunately, all openings in the Class of 2009 have been filled, and we are unable to offer you admission to the College of Communication.
I understand this is dissapointing news. Please accept my best wishes for a successful resolution to your college search.

That's what my letter looked like. Maybe my case was different because I applied for COM, who knows.
I guess if I'm not happy at DePaul, I can always transfer.
Ciao babes.

I am so sorry...do you think that means that they aren't taking anyone. Also did you write a letter to say that they were your first choice.

No, I didn't write a letter.
They said the list was 'unranked' but who knows how true that is.
I had always heard mixed replies on the issue of saying it's your first choice.
Perhaps, I should have written one, haha.

No no don't have regrets. This college thing is so ridiculous. So random and so based on luck. Today's my graduation so in order not to freak out when I get rejected I am just not going to look at the mail.

i got rejected today too; jsut out of curiosity, what were your stats

i had 1460 sats, 31 on acts, 3.5 unweighed gpa with tons of ecs with leadership positons - it was my only hgih point, really, with community service, work experience, music for...14 years, sports, etc etc...

i applied to CAS btw

Did you contact the admissions office and tell them that BU was your first choice, or did you just stay on the wait list?

Got rejected too. Ah wells, I liked Northeastern's campus better anyways. :D

got rejection letter june 8

i dont think anyone is getting accepted from the waitlist this year just like last year

Where did you get that stat out of curiosity? Because when I called the admissions office they said that "a couple" were accepted last year, and earlier on this post it says that 92% were accepted last year?

caught a lie? eek
well i don't have any lies... but i did go to stevenson, which has about 4500 kids... that means my rank, while in the top 20-15%, is much lower than any other kid who is top 20% at a smaller school.

i applied to CAS, and i've sent a few letters, additional teacher reccs, and emailed my "regional" counseler, or whatever, a good number of times. if i get rejected, it will be because i was so ffin' annoying.

if i dont get in, i'm headed to UMass... we will see. im just gonna be optimistic but still be realistic at the same time.

anna

Wow anna, you are definitly on their "priority list"! But that is a good thing. I wonder why some people are getting their letters much earlier than say me. Any insight?
