It's been almost 3 weeks since Chicago has released decisions, and it won't be soon before long (isn't that Maroon 5 by the way?) until Chicago starts notifying waitlistees on May 4th.

*So what have you done ever since seeing that dreaded e-mail that left you in eternal killer suspense? *

Personally, I accepted the place on the waitlist then sent them a few e-mails to update them about a few things and to tell them that I'm interested, but I'm still not committed enough (Chicago doesn't have an engineering school, and that's something that makes me "meh") to actually write them a letter telling them that I will absolutely go if admitted.

But I'm still very much in love with Chicago, even though they've made me wait since late October, when I sent in my EA app. (It's almost like Gatsby waiting on the edge of the dock for the green light...)

Personally, I am sending in a formal letter of interest, updated resume, along with an email to my regional rep, who hasnt replied yet…dont know whats taking so long lol. Anyways, I hope the time and effort i put into this can really pay off in the imminent weeks to come, ha.

btw, Do they start calling wait list people on May 4th? How reliable is the date?

Well, I’ve sent a couple of e-mails, telling that I’m still interested and what I’ve done since last January.
They replied…and the e-mail they sent me was comparatively long… telling me what to do if i want to increase my chance of acceptance…
I guess it may be a good sign.
I’m planning to submit a few extra materials next week…

essay? i dont remember reading about sending in additional writing samples as an recommendation in the blog post. Personally, i dont think the committee would want to read more…there’re plenty to read in the application.

Won’t be long now. Is it safe to think that if we are in the first group taken off the waitlist, we could hear back sometime next week? I almost hope not, that would make AP tests tough!

I GOT THE PHONE CALL!!! Praise the Lord, I’m off the waitlist!!! Now all I need is for the financial aid to come through.

I shall now go celebrate elsewhere- I know how irritating it is when someone is celebrating and you don’t know yet. But at least you know that the waitlist is active!
