Waitlistees!! when are you going to / when did you send your supplementary letter?

Yeah, I understand that ^

but I seriously doubt that EVERY SINGLE student accepted, you know?

@ lazypolarbears: They took her off. She’s from Pakistan and is in SEAS.

Not every accepted student is going to matriculate and all schools know that. That’s why they accept MORE than their ideal class size. I’m on the waitlist for SEAS but I’m not expecting anything. And I got off the waitlist for Rice and I’m absolutely going there now :)

wow, I’m pretty surprised that an applicant so late in the game does not know that a school accepts a high proportion more students than they have space for. When Columbia thinks they will not take anyone off the seas waitlist, it is usually takes the summer melt into consideration, they have data from several past years. If I were on the seas waitlist, I wouldn’t really have any exceptions (although there is still a small chance of getting in, in the event that seas has a huge summer melt).

congratz jdong. Would you go to SEAS if you were to get off the waitlist?

so i heard people heard from the waitlist today. no call/mail for me :(

^ well ****. Me either. Who did you hear from that got off the waitlist? And was it CC or SEAS?

^^really? how many people/how do you know?

Grawr, polarbear, doesn’t apear they’re on to answer our panicked questions =(

Hahah sorry guys I don’t know any deets! A friend told me that his friend just got in off the WL today (coincidentally barnard started with its waitlist today. And my friend just got into Wesleyan from WL as well).

Haha well shoot. That’s disappointing… =P

Well that’s Barnard, not Columbia.

I got off yesterday. Received the email around 5pm EST to check my columbia decision on my account, and I thought it was gonna be a rejection but it was like ‘Congratulation, the admissions committee joins me in the most rewarding job of offering you a place in Columbia’s …’

Seriously? If yes, then congratulations!

@aprilchyeee: Wow, that’s awesome! Congrats! =D
Were you a CC or SEAS applicant?

@aprilchyeee - congrats if you actually got it, but I’m a little doubtful that this is true. Why would no one else mention the waitlist movement on CC? Other Waitlist threads at Yale and Princeton have multiple members confirming movement on the waitlist, but yours is the sole (and highly suspect) report. If they did send out emails, I’d expect at least two or three other people to say the same. I really hope you’re not ■■■■■■■■ us, because these kinds of games aren’t fun.

But if it’s true, and you’re one of the very, very few people who got that email, nice job.

Can anyone confirm that?

Because 8 posts is kinda sketchyy.

But anyway, Congrats! :)

I can confirm that there has been waitlist movement at Columbia. My friend’s friend got in…

Congrats aprilchyeee!! =D That’s so exciting! What school?

@ plumdum229: CC or SEAS?
