waitlists?

when will i know if i get into classes off the waitlist?

It might not be until you get there. You might have to see the professor. It just depends on if people drop before classes start, drop that first week, or the prof decides to let you in whether or not people drop. Go to the first lecture and see them afterwards.

My daughter got off the waitlist today for a class. she was #1 on the waitlist.

I would keep checking the next few days since AP scores are coming out. My son gained 11 credits today which we weren’t really expecting and he no longer needs his Physics class. Unfortunately he now does need freshman english so hopefully we can fit that in instead. He also was offered a spot at one of his waitlist schools today which I doubt we will accept because of the cost difference but in cases where that does happen, slots are sure to open up

Hi mom - Wild guess, was it WUSTL?

No, the College of William and Mary

S2 was fortunate, got into every class he wanted.

idad-was S2’s orientation date earlier, rather than later? I have a theory that spots are NOT held open for later orientation dates, or at least not to the extent one is led to believe.

He attended the June 21 orientation. I don’t know if that is early or late. I believe he has no class that begins before 10 AM. …But he does have class everyday.

Ah, the student’s dream, no 8 or 9 AM classes.

Vitrac–I’m not positive on this, but I think the only classes they hold spots in are classes that freshmen NEED, such as the English 101 and other basic classes. I registered for classes a few months ago, and I’m only registered for 300 level classes or above, and those were pretty much all full within the day. If they’re trying to get into classes that aren’t core requirements, I wouldn’t doubt that they’re all already full.

I think that is true, ptcgal. WIth the 300+ level classes, from everything I have heard from other students and my D, the majority of times, maybe even the vast majority, the prof will let you in if you show up the first day and ask, or often if you just ask even before classes start.
