Waiving SHIP

I am an international student.
So what are your suggestions about SHIP? Is it worth the price?

I feel like it’s a bit expensive unless you have financial aid for it. I didn’t really use it that much besides for making glasses. If you can find a better alternative, go for that instead. I doubt you’ll need it unless you’re always sick!

Definitely not worth it. I paid more than 1600 but never used any service. Try to find ways of waiving it but that’s not easy.

My other D is at UCLA, and I have one at Cal this fall. Even though we could waive SHIP, we have done it once, and won’t do it again. Older D got flu and lots of other things because she had bad tonsils. It was annoying to go find a doctor to take care of her. It was convenient to go to the Ashe center. They do give you a certain number of visits even if you waive ship, but she blew through those. We just decided it was easier to keep it.
