Wake Forest Class of 2025 — Regular Decision

did you do ed 2?

if not ed2, then you should be fine

Does having a sibling at a school help at all? I’m assuming probably not

yes, i think so; as long as you marked it down on your application i think it will help

Hi everybody! Does anyone know what date should we be aiming for?

I think they are rolling too until April 1. I assume they will release on Fridays around 8 pm like others.

No. RD decisions come all at once towards the end of March. See above. Last year it was March 20

Thanks for clarifying. I guess even if it’s a month away it’s nice knowing a date instead of checking every Friday night for weeks on end like we did. Good luck to everyone!

Has anyone received an email to apply for Global AWAKEnings? It is a study abroad program in Denmark. Any thoughts? My son is on the fence.

I think it went to everyone

Will be interesting if it works out this year. Last year they had to come home early. It’s a great program if you don’t care about being on campus your freshman year. My daughter spoke to her pre-health advisor and it can work with Pre-med but very difficult with Early Assurance Program without Summer school. She would love to go but nit sure it’s worth missing out being on campus her first year. They do have lots of other amazing study abroad programs that are one semester or over the summer too.

Thank you for your imput. My son is pre-med too, you made a good point. Thanks again.

Yes, S went to Barcelona fall of his junior yr with a bunch of kids. Same semester many of his friends went to other locals in England, Italy, Australia, Germany, etc. In fact several met up at Oktoberfest in Munich. Wake does a great job with study abroad. Timing really comes down to your major. For S, it was pretty essential he go that semester and to Barcelona as they offered courses necessary to satisfy his major. Otherwise it would have meant summer school which would have interfered with internships. His academic advisor did a great job of mapping out his course load for junior and senior years in order to fit study abroad in and graduate on time.

I have 2 daughters at Wake (senior and freshman). The senior is a biology major and will be going to UPenn veterinary school next year, and the freshman is an applied mathematics major who is pre-med. I will be happy to answer any questions that anyone may have. In short, we love the school :grinning:.

Hi, my daughter is interested in the bio program at Wake. I’m so glad you all love the school. My question is I’ve heard most of the girls go into the Greek system? My daughter is on the fence about rushing as she wants to be active in non-Greek clubs, wants to play club golf & is worried Greek life would take most of the time outside of academics. Would social life suffer if she didn’t? Thanks!

Both of my daughters are in the same sorority. The older daughter is on the equestrian team and club tennis team. The freshman is in the marching band and club tennis. The coursework is intense, but both of my daughters are very involved and have been academically successful there.
According to my daughters, Greek life is very prominent and plays a major social role.

They both enjoy being part of Greek life, but they have plenty of time to do other things as well. For freshman, rush occurs at the end of Christmas break just before other students return for the beginning of the spring semester. This way your daughter can get acclimated to Wake in the fall of her freshman year before committing to a sorority, and rush occurs between semesters so that it will not impact students academically.
