Hello my name is Trenton and recently I received a letter from Wake forest Requesting that I come down to the campus for a personal interview and apply to Wake come this summer. I will be the first person ever in my entire family and my family’s family to attend college and i do not know much about all of it. I am blind in my right eye and slowly going blind in my left and when i first figured this out i was in my freshman year and i didnt do so hot i did a little better sophomore year and this is my junior year and i have realized what i want and need to do to go to college. i now have a 4.1 GPA. One of my friends said that wake might have sent me that letter just to get me to apply and get my application fee. Would they do that? I am very interested in Wake and it is my top school at the moment so when i got that letter i was very exited. I would like honesty do you think that they would actually have me drive 2 hours for a personal interview just to make a little cash off of me? I am still going to have the interview and was wondering what kind of questions they might ask? I am a very big peoples person and am very good at talking with people. Will there be questions that will allow me to incorporate my eyes and how i have been overcoming it? Any information would be very helpful? Like I said i do not know much about college and my dad does the best to help me. I was just referred to this website and was told that it was amazing. If you could help answer a few of my questions i would highly appreciate it. Thanks
I haven’t seen the letter, but I hope you will go down for the interview. I am sure they are not contacting you to make money off of you. Please post back after you’ve visited.
Hopefully this isn’t too late, but they asked me the typical “tell me about yourself” “why Wake Forest?” they asked me what I did in my free time, what I could bring to Wake and about recent books i’ve been reading. They also asked me to describe my town to an outsider. All of the interviewers are super nice. Just be yourself, dress for the interview, and let the conversation flow. A lot of the times they ask you questions about topics you bring up in your answers, so don’t introduce stuff you aren’t sure about.
Good luck at your interview! Wake loves it when students interview, if they do not, this can often hurt them in the application process.
