@UGG2023 maybe you and my daughter will be Deacs together! She just got rejected from Tufts, Princeton and Dartmouth! Wake has been number #1 but Tufts was 2nd. She didn’t like Duke when we visited so didn’t apply. I think there must be a reason for things and hopefully everyone ends up where they are meant to be.
@2kidz2college That sounds great! Revisiting Tulane Honors this weekend, Wake on 4/5, and W&M on 4/8. Got into Lehigh and GW but probs won’t revisit. Just waiting on Georgetown (decisions in the mail) but was a reach anyway. Wake is top choice as of right now. Sorry about your rejections, I live in Princeton, haha
2Kidz - we loved the Princeton campus as Dartmouth is my personal favorite of all of them. It’s just so hard getting in - you have to be a legacy or have perfect + stats. Dartmouth doesn’t have an undergad business school though, so we didn’t apply and Princeton, well, no chance getting in there so we didn’t bother.
UGG - you dodged a bullet with Duke! (UNC alum here, but Wake is better fit for our student)
We loved UNC too - just impossible to get in with the 82% state mandate
UGG - I’ll always love Tulane as it was the one really good school my s got into first. Wake is just the better fit I think, although Tulane is much more liberal with the merit scholarships. We haven’t visited Tulane but may do anyway.
Who wants to go to an Ivy anyway?!
Congrats to all!
@Jm6844 so did yours get Michigan ?? @UGG2023 sorry for yours as well. My daughter really loved Wake, though, and had a feeling from the beginning so what will be will be!
Anyone from Los Angeles still waiting?
rejected–wasn’t expecting this–I thought I would get waitlisted…Kinda regret that I did not submit my scores–I have 1400 in SAT and 4.3 W GPA (3.8 UW) 6APs and the rest are all honors; recently won a scholastic art awards and have a lot of excellent artworks—interesting because I applied for Biology (kinda want art as a minor if possible tho) I don’t know why I decided to do all the questions (president of 4 clubs, including debate)–I am not a good writer?I guess I just messed the whole things up
Also, I don’t think my recs are very good…so…I guess I understand why they rejected me…
I did not apply for many schools this years–only 6; have 2 backups and 1 match accepted me; I got accepted to Purdue (match) but I am going to UMass Amherst next year since I am planning to transfer anyway and I have visited Umass and actually like its campus
Anyway, congrats to all who have been accepted!!!
@liiilly sorry to hear it. It sounds like you have a great attitude and will do well at UMass.
Waitlist at WFU is mostly false hope, so it’s perhaps a blessing in disguise to get a no and move on.
@liiiily I’m sorry to hear that. I hope everything works out for you.
To other NJ/NY area people just FYI flights to NC were kinda scarce when I looked for campus day (daughter wants to revisit so going 4/12 day). Look forward to meeting other potential Deacs.
To all, there is a place for everyone and everyone will find their place. I truly believe that (from someone who didn’t get into their dream school back in my day but ended up absolutely loving where I went so much so that I go back for reunions and still see my college friends).
We were out of state for spring break this week. I didn’t stop our mail so that we could get his decision as soon as we got home, and I have been stalking informed delivery emails every day. I hadn’t seen a small envelope from WF so I was hoping that was good news. I didn’t tell my son anything about my intel so he was surprise when we got home tonight to an overstuffed mailbox that included a big acceptance package! We’re OOS but I have no idea when it arrived.
I hope financial aid decisions come quickly!
Quick stats - 34 ACT, 4.4 GPA, lots of APs, Natl Merit Commended Student, varsity athlete
Sorry Liiiilly but if you end up at UMass Amherst that’s a big big win for you!! Great school, great campus. 1400 is something to be proud about, BTW
@cmich123 still waiting in SF Bay Area
For those on the fence, my D has been chatting with lots of kids who are going to Wake in the fall (lots of ED1 and 2)and she says that everyone is so friendly and down to earth. She said it’s a very social group and there are kids from all over. She is so excited to start college. There’s a facebook group and from there people are exchanging snapchat and instagram info. If you want details I can find out and post tomorrow. As someone who was worried that the students would be snobby, I was soooooo wrong.
Has anyone found an admitted students group me? Or snap group?
@Lilllllllly Please don’t be so hard on yourself. You sound like a great student. It seems like you made your mind up. but we saw Purdue this summer, and I absolutely loved it. My family did too. It was beautiful with great facilities and although a big school it didn’t feel overwhelming. The vibe was excellent. There was nothing I didn’t like about it. Good luck to you.
@lsufan4301 My daughter mentioned being in multiple groups including group me and snap chat. I can find out what you need to do to join.
@citymama9 I would like to know too!
