I am also a white conservative girl from a private school. I live in MA and was accepted as part of the Wake Class of '15. I visited both URich and Wake and found campus style similar. They were both gorgeous and collegiate. What made me choose Wake was the personality of the students and teachers. I was lucky enough to speak with one of the Associate Deans and he was so passionate about the school. The students seemed lively and were very kind. The Greek system seems awesome if you are interested in it and Deacon spirit for sports is much more intense than I saw at URich.

thanks! you know what, i actually felt the exact same way that you did. i was caught between the two but then went back to wake for my second visit and have decided to apply ed there.

how long did it take you to receive an admissions decision from wake after you applied?

I know a bunch of people who go to Richmond, and I go to Wake so I’ll try to answer in that sense. Both are similar in terms of the people that go to the schools and what not. From what I know, Wake has a lot more sports spirit, a more greek-dominated social scene, and the workload for most majors is a bit more than Richmond. Richmond’s a great school and I’ve heard great things about it, but definitely a bit different than Wake (also smaller by about 1k students)

I heard about four weeks after all my stuff was sent in (application, recs, transcript, etc.)
