Wake Forest Waitlist

Is she a full paying student may I ask?

Daughter got in.
GPA: 4.3
ACT: 30
full pay

They say they are need blind when calling off the waitlist! There is still hope for all. She got called Friday, April 24th at around 4:59. I am not sure if they are still calling active applicants, however I believe they will continue to call through August.

They will probably only accept those who need aid after all full pay students have been taken off the list. It sucks, but they need money. Especially in the current climate.

Did she have any “hook”? I’m a full paying student, 33 ACT. Hoping to get it off WL

Have there been anymore Waitlist calls since last Friday April 24th?

You guys think Wake filled their class or will more people be accepted off the waitlist?

@hansmoove I think from the forest blog will update soon

Hi Everyone,
I am also on the Wake Forest waitlist. Does anyone have any information on if/when Wake Forest will be conducting its next round of phone calls?

Thank you for your help!

I saw a lot of people asking if Wake is need-blind or not. As a student who attends Wake Forest, our admission process has become need-aware ever since we dropped the SAT and ACT requirement. Not to discourage anyone :frowning: but I’ve talked to our VP in admissions before, most people who get off the waitlist tend to be students who are able to afford full tuition.

Would someone please be able to tell me what “full pay” means? Does it mean you are not receiving any financial aid or loans?

yes^^ you pay sticker price

thanks

Anyone have any new updates?

They updated the from the forest blog with a letter to the class of 2024. Might mean they have filled their class.

It definitely hurt you not to interview. WFU interviews are with admissions counselor so it is a great way to get face time with a decision-maker and the person who would be advocating for you. It also did not show enough demonstrated interest. Financial aid may have played a small part.

Full pay means that the university isn’t giving you grants. They still may offer loans as part of your package since that does not cost them anything.

What does the new blog post mean? Have they filled their class?

Does anyone think that their new blog post means that they filled their class? I was also thinking it could have just been a letter to the class, and doesn’t mean it’s filled.

My guess is that it’s not filled, or is still very fluid. WL are moving at all top tier schools still, which means quite a few “committed” students at WF may decide to go elsewhere, like an Ivy or other top 20 school. The whole WL ends up having a ripple effect. Good luck to those who are still waiting on a spot - my son decided not to stay on the WL - he got too good an offer from Davidson to turn down.
