Wake Forest Waitlist

My advice, dont fight your children’s battles. Let them live their own life.

If you want to delude yourself that UGA is “higher ranked” then go for it. (Clear from other boards that is where you are going, but you don’t want to admit it on this board). WFU price tag is the same as other private colleges. Can’t compare public vs private price tags, though I agree you can get an equal education at a top public school like UVA, UNC.

UGA is a good school - if you want to stay in the southeast. If you want broader opportunities, Wake has a bigger national reputation - they just do- whether they paid for it by trying to jack up their US News ranking- the fact is that employers view Wake as Top 30 mad they don’t view UGA that way.

Anybody think they will take anymore? I think they are probably done

@julewinn I can’t believe that you are still on here talking when the whole reason I started the forum was for waitlisted people… doesn’t make sense. Congrats on Georgetown and fighting people constantly that you don’t even know.

Where are

Where are you getting your information from? Just curious as to how reliable it is.

I would discount the above reply. He has an ax to grind with WF for some reason. I don’t know if anyone knows if they are still taking candidates from the waitlist. The only way to know for sure is to contact the admissions office to see where they are. If you look back at all of julewinn’s entries, you will get the impression that he is very disgruntled with the school for some reason. He has been very insulting to many on this thread, and at age 18 he seems to think that he has all the answers. I wish him the best at Georgetown and think that “How to make friends and influence people” should be his first read. He will learn the hard way. He feels entitled to be as obnoxious and abrasive as he can be on an anonymous thread. Little does he know to whom he is offending. He thinks that a 31 on his ACT and 4’s on AP tests makes him an elitist. I congratulate him on his accomplishments, but his stats are much lower than my daughters who go to Wake. For his edification, they went to public school, and I pay full tuition for both cash on the barrel head, and I do not cry about it. Good luck getting off the waitlist. Unapologetically, we love Wake.
One last thing. He seems to be a big Sean Hannity fan. He will be happy to know that Mr. Hannity’s son is a senior at WF and was a member of the 2018 Men’s Tennis National Championship Team?.

Seems @julewinn got himself banned. Probably for the best.

Has anyone heard anything else?

All 3 (Richmond, Davidson, and W&L) are more competitive than Wake. Does Wake reject higher stat kids for yield control?

No definitely not. I know two people from my school with wgpas around 100 rd (ones going to wake (although she hopes to get off unc waitlist) and the other is going to duke). The average wgpa for wake from my school is around 95/96. as long as one shows some sort of interest they will get in despite having unusually high stats. also the one enrolled in wake showed literally no interest whatsoever so wake isn’t necessarily too concerned with their yield. also i wouldn’t necessarily say those three schools are most competitive. they’re liberal arts schools that are mostly only known on the east coast while wake is known more nationally. at the same time those schools have lower acceptance rates and less spots bc of the size.

I only have USNWR rankings to go by for competitiveness. Wake Forest is a very pretty school in a great town, but my heart would belong to Davidson and W&L.
