I've read on studentsreview.com that WFU was a school full of rich, spoiled, shallow students who are unfriendly and snotty. I have absolutely no idea if this is true given I do not know anyone who is currently attending WFU and I have not even given the campus a visit. Has anyone else heard of this? What do you think of it? Will you still go to WFU?

Wake students are definitely not unfriendly. There are some rich people, some spoiled people, some shallow people too. But you'd find that at any college you go to, especially the top ones.

is it difficult to make friends if you don't fit into the upper socio-economic bracket?

I thought the students were extremely friendly when I visited. Many people said hello, and I was stopped by several people because they could tell I was lost. One student even went out of her way to give me a tour of the chem department. The warmth of the student body was a major factor in my decision to apply. It was a shock going to UNC afterwards; not nearly as many people were friendly.

Caligirl, it's not at all difficult to make friends if you're not in the upper socio-economic bracket. Personally, I don't think that it's really obvious what bracket you're in at all. All the freshmen and sophomores live on campus, and so everyone is pretty much equal.

All the freshmen and sophomores live on campus, plus Wake gives us pretty much everything we regularly use (most importantly our computers) and so everyone is pretty much equal.

Yeah, often times you can't tell who's loaded and who isn't. I mean, if someone has a car, then you get a sense. But otherwise, it's kind of utopian, everybody is considered on the same standing. But like I said, Wake kids are a friendly bunch.

I agree. Printon Review mocked Wake so much too as a "too homogenous" school. It they're student reviews and they're ugly...chances are that the students who were saying that were the ones who got rejected by Wake!
