UC to UC
hi, im in my second year of attending UCR right now, and im wondering if i have a chance of transfering into Berkeley, UCLA, UCI, UCSD, or any other UC for that matter, im at UCR right now. Here are my STATs:

highschool stats:
GPA: 3.8
SAT: 1200 (710, 490)
SAT II: 680- mathiic, 500- writing, 540- physics
Worth mentioning: 5 on calculus AB, 4 on chemistry, AIME qualifier (107.5- AMC 12, 4-AIME)

College STATs:
First semester: average GPA of a 3.50 (took calculus 2)
Second semester: average GPA of a 3.7 (took linear algebra and differential equations)
Third Semester: average GPA of a 3.7 (vector and multivariable calculus)
clubs: hiking, math
works hard in tutoring math
math major
good study habits, works hard, strong courseload

i think my only weakness (because my college grades are strong) is that my highschool SAT scores are a bit low, and the fact that im trying to transfer from UCR to other UCs. UCB admits roughly 25% of its transfer applicants- collegeboard. LA admits about 30%. Im guessing the average college GPA for people applying to Berkeley and LA is somewhere in the neighborhood of 3.5. And then the fact that im transfering from a UC to another makes the situation even worse.
what i really want to know is my chances at the UCs, especially the top ones. thanks....

need some feedback....thanks.

forget ur SATs and hi. school record.....it's essentially down to college GPA and major LD/GE completion...

intercampus is not much harder than CCC tranferrin'.

ur chances...ok so u have around a 3.65 and u seem to have done a lot of ur major courses/...now assuming u get ur GEs done by spring...

UCSB,UCD =very safe
UCSD, UCI= safe
UCLA=slight reach (i dont believe math was impacted the last time i checked)
UCB=not really sure but i feel it's reach...

i think hobofromdowntown (another poster) is in a very similar situation (i believe he goes to UCR)...
maybe he has something to say...

thanks for the input futebolista, yeah it seems like UCB and UCLA will be reaches for me, because of my major. i forgot to mention that i took 16 units a semester. any other input will be appreciated. thanks.

make sure you have at least 60 semester credits and no more than 80 when spring ends...for Cal

AP credits will be used in an advantageous way to fulfill that req...

oh yea....actually i think UCLA might be a match for you

it's only Cal that's a bugger...

thanks futebolista, what do you others think?

you're in all the lower UC's (UCI, UCSB, UCD) i know a lot of people who transferred to uci after freshman year so that one should be a safe bet. UCLA and UCB are a coin toss.. i have no idea about the math major but for business its very competitive.

oh and btw, your SAT's don't matter. You may or may not have noticed that the UC application didn't even ask for them!
