Wanting to transfer with a low GPA

Hey guys. I need some input.

I'm a sophomore at the University of Arizona and I want to transfer to a California school. Unfortunately, I have a very dismal GPA, so I was wondering what my chances would be?

California Resident
High School Stats:

GPA : 3.8 Weighted. Forgot the unweighted. Went from a 2.4 Freshman year to a 4.4 end of Senior year.
SATs : Around 1870 I believe.
ECs : Nothing really. Just a few clubs here and there, volunteer experience...pretty much what everyone has.

College Stats:
Major: Creative Writing / Pre-health
GPA : 2.67 (Like I said, dismal. I overloaded on science and math courses my freshmen year and had no gen eds, with the exception of English 102. I'm doing OK this semester. Hoping to come out with a 3.3 for the semester.)
ECs : Working 20 hours a week for campus catering.
Intramural basketball and football.
Semester of volunteering in the hospital (Discontinued due to time
constraints)
Leadership position in one club. Led a project in another.

I was looking at Biola and the Southern California UC schools. So....what are my chances?

Chances are low at competitive schools, as your GPA is the most important factor in transfer admissions.

If you count all my CC credits, my GPA goes up to a solid 3.0. I'm not sure if that'll help me much though.

There's a good chance you won't be able to transfer to a better school. Check out the numbers though; see what the GPA of the average transfer is at your target schools.

"see what the GPA of the average transfer is at your target schools."

Where would you find numbers like that? Would you have to ask the schools themselves? I've sorta just been looking at freshman stats and then upping them (assuming that transfer admission is more selective).

the school's data set will have that

Biola is doable if you can demonstrate a strong commitment to an evangelical Christian world view and you can address your struggles at the JC in your essay. I would get in to Biola now while you can, as it is forecasted to become drastically more competitive in the years to come.
