wanting to walk on...

<p>hoping to be recruited/walk on to play field hockey at a highly competitive division one school w/ great academics (ivy league/stanford). walk on means i have to get in on my own (no admission "tags" like recruits get) but still get to play.</p>

GPA (after 1st semester junior year) 3.97 UW, 4.23 W
1 AP/2 Honors Soph Year
4 APs Junior Year
Registered for 5 APs senior year
Extremely competitive high school, school doesn't rank but i'd guess top 10%</p>

2330 SAT (800 Math, 800 Reading, 730 Writing)
710 World History Subject Test
700 Math II Subject Test
690 Bio Subject Test
5 APWH </p>

<p>EC's:
3 Years Varsity Field Hockey, starter, won championships
3 Years Track Team (JV)
4 Years on competitive robotics team (FIRST), won most prestigious award last year at world championships, been to world championships every year and won an award each time
Cofounder of a nonprofit organization (501c3 certified) that helps kids get involved w/ science through robotics, secretary then president (2 years)
President of cultural outreach club on campus
National Honor Society
Cotillion- 8 years
Coached middle school field hockey team, two years
Model UN</p>

<p>I don’t know how the process works for walk ons but some schools to possibly check into are William & Mary, UVA, UNC, Georgetown, Penn, Cornell, Colgate, Boston College, Northwestern and UCB. Best of luck!</p>

<p>Yeah I’ve associated athletes with Notre Dame, which you’d stand a pretty good shot for. In general, like lower to mid level ivies, as well as all top 25 colleges seem good for you</p>
