I got into UCSD's Earl Warren campus but, I'm debating over going to SD or Davis.
For anyone who goes to UCSD, how much walking do you have to do at UCSD?
I've heard it's isolated, which I'm OK with, but I need to know whether or not all parts of the campus are accessible by walking.
I mean, how far is Earl Warren from Muir?
And also, what is there to do around the campus?

Just adding on to what everyone else said: EARLS PLACE is definitely icing on the cake (open until 1am). All the people I talked to are jealous of this little shop we have.. you can get snacks, sandwich (for really cheap if you're low on mealpoints), AND starbucks coffee. what more can you ask for?

asajjad2, UCSD's campus definitely isn't small or compact so you will probably have to walk quite a bit if you don't have a bike or skateboard...but you get used to it, and I'd say it takes about 20 mins. to walk from one end of campus to the other. This is kind of random but I actually got blisters on my feet during Welcome Week of freshman year b/c I was really not used to walking that much, at all....my high school had a small campus and I guess I just kind of sat around during the summer....but now I really enjoy the walking! All parts of the campus are definitely accessible by walking, and Warren is about 10-15 minutes from Muir depending on how fast you walk.
Around the campus, you can go to the beach, movie theater, and shopping easily by bus. If you want to explore downtown san diego it is very convenient to have a car.

Okay, I have a new question.
Where exactly can you house your visiting friends and family?
Is it necessary for them to get a hotel, because that's expensive...
I'm pretty sure I'm going to be forced into a triple...
Well, is it possible to keep people in the suite lounge?
OH! And does Warren have a kitchenette? and how clean/ big is it?

Well if you're in a triple and it's crowded, then the next best thing would be the suite lounge....which is pretty big, but they might have to sleep on the floor because I think the couches are pretty small in the res halls. Apartments in Warren have kitchens, but there are NO kitchens in the res halls, not even a "community" type kitchen which I know they have in the res halls in some other colleges. It kind of sucks :/ but you're allowed to bring mini refridgerators, practically everyone in my suite had their own mini fridge last year.

Okay, that sounds good.
Well, I heard that the floors in the res halls aren't co-ed which I'm completely cool with but, I'm worried because I want to know where to house my best friend who is a guy.
Are girls allowed to house guys in their suite lounges? And if so, do they do it often?
Haha. I know my questions sound stupid but, I really want to know before I make one of the biggest decisions in my life!

Hm...I'm sure it will be fine as long as it's okay with your suite mates. I mean, nobody's going to "bust" you for having a guy spend the night in your suite.
I don't think we had guys spending the night in our suite that often...if they did, it was in the girl's actual room and not in the lounge....but I guess it wouldn't really be a big deal if they did sleep in the lounge.
As I just said, it's really just a matter of whether your suitemates/roommates will agree to it, and you'll have to deal with that no matter where you decide to go to school...but in my opinion, you don't have to worry about this, and it shouldn't factor into your decision on which school to attend...

actually the floors ARE co-ed. where did you hear they aren't? lol

the other guy suites on my floor have a girl suite accross form them... what do we have? the damn study lounge... don't get me wrong though, it's really conveninet. =]
