Was my essay the reason UPenn rejected me?

<p>I wrote it after realizing that I cared about this topic alot more than the previous essay I had been writing for 3 months. I wrote this essay in 1 day. And I submitted it as my common app essay for UPenn ED. I was rejected. I thought my stats + ec's were good enough (36 ACT (on second try, 35 first time), 2360 SAT, 2/368, 12 5's, bunch of nice ecs) and I'm really wondering if I made the right choice submitting this essay. My biggest weakness is my writing and I would really appreciate it if anyone could take a look and correct what they feel needs correction. </p>

<p>Did you give insight of who you are?
Perhaps the adcom didn’t connect with you. However, there were many great applicants this year. It probably wasn’t just your essay. I’m interested in reading it.</p>
