Ok so I'm a rising sophomore... And I am always one to do my planning, making sure I at least know what I want. So I came across this website named "Cappex" or something of the like, which pretty much allows me to search colleges and add them to a list and see what my chances are and compare them etc.
But just today I got around 10 emails, all from Universities that are (interested in me?). One of which was from my dream college, UCSB. I had no idea that I was actually contacting any colleges, just thought I was looking, apparently not._. So I guess this college now knows about me, all my stats (which I still have 3 years of high school to do so they will surely change), all of my information? That really worries me that they might be judging me as of right now.... Anyone want to clear things up for me?:( I have no idea what I just did I really hope I didn't screw things up for myself

No, schools won’t waste their time judging a sophomore (unless you’re an athlete)

On cappex unless you choose to ‘connect’ with a college, they don’t get your whole profile, only a tiny piece (like what range your gpa/test scores are). I think that colleges send out automatic emails to anyone past a certain threshold. You didn’t affect your chances at all.

They don’t care.

Thank you guys:)
