I am torn between Wash U and Tufts for ED...I think I have a really good shot at Tufts ED I but I visited Wash U this past week and feel in love with the campus and its programs and also had a stellar interview. Do you think Wash U is a reach? I know Wash U loves kids who show significant interest and I have been in contact with Wash U admissions officers and students since early April. However, I also like Tufts but I don't know whether applying ED II instead of ED I would significantly damage my chances of being accepted.

I know a couple of kids at Tufts, so Im gonna visit again at least 2 or 3 more times, spend a night, shadow the students to get a sense of their classes, and talk with professors in fields that interest me

My top choices:
1. Wash U
2. Tufts
3. Emory
4. Brown
5. Cornell
6. Johns Hopkins
7. UNC Chapel Hill
8. Georgetown
9. BU
10. UMASS Amherst

Plz help me, I promise to chance back

I think WU might be a little reach - but maybe you’ll get in if you ED. If you fell in love with it, and would be 110% happy there without any regrets, than you should ED there. ED II at Tufts won’t hurt more (compared to ED I). It’s still the same concept, and it’s still better than applying regular (in terms of showing interest, etc). Just make sure it’s where you’d really be happy. Also, your GPA is a little low? Do you know your rank? or at least what % of class you’re in? Top 10%? BTW, UMass and BU are safeties.

lol seriously?

Washington U is not a reach for an applicant from the east coast. You have a great chance if you don’t screw up your application.

You’ve got a great shot at both WashU and Tufts.
If you are in love with WashU, that’s where you should apply ED. If I had to bet, I would guess that you would get in, but if you don’t, then you apply to Tufts EDII.
You can’t do the reverse, since WashU did away with EDII about 3 years ago.

Thanks for your insight.
@AmbulanceChaser: yeah, i went there for 3 summers in a row and the first one we spent actually constructing the school and prepping it for opening. The next 2 years I went and taught there.
