Wash U Scholarship Programs Class of 2023

I got entrepreneurial scholars :slight_smile:

I did not get a phone call, but I checked my portal and I’m an Ervin Scholarship Finalist!!

Congratulations to all the finalists. @yeet1338 , Could you please share your stats if you don’t mind.

Last night I received a phone call, and I checked my portal this evening to confirm: I was selected as a Langsdorf Scholar finalist!

What’s the difference between distinguished scholars finalist and others such as the dansforth or Langsdorf?

36 Superscore ACT and 4.0 GPA and i’m Asian which made the scholarship result even more of a surprise to me

We got a call and have been invited for scholars weekend

Thanks @yeet1338 . I’m guessing you would have had very good ECs and Leadership roles too ?

Definitely a heavy involvement in my community but no national or state level awards. Anything is possible @anxmom18

Congratulations! You have been accepted to WashU and finalists will get some merit aid according to my understanding (not full though).

@artmom6 can u PM me?

@techbrain I can’t. I don’t have enough posts. This one may hit the mark, though and I might be able to tomorrow. Can you pm me?

Does anyone know when scholar finalists will get more information (like a schedule for the weekend)?

Good luck to all the finalists! Enjoy your weekend and come back to let us know all about it!

My son’s experience was the following. He applied for the Rodriguez scholars program - he put a lot of time into the essays.

He is ED and so he knew already he was accepted into WashU and he was already excited about that (it was his top choice even over Stanford and the Ivies). He did not receive a phone call, but he got an email saying the scholars finalist decisions were made and to check the portal. In the portal it said he was a finalist - he was excited all over again to be finalist for the Scholars program.

He made arrangement to travel to St. Louis for the interview weekend. Before going he was somewhat anxious to say all the right things etc… His flight out to St Louis was canceled (weather i think) but he found a later flight. And although he missed the first dinner, he had a blast during the interview weekend. He really enjoyed it - he said it was fun and relaxing. He stayed up late karaoke-ing with the current scholars one night. Before he left, he was told he would be notified in two or three days.

Two days after the interviews he received a call from the program director informing him that he was selected as a Rodriguez scholar. I never saw him so excited. Needless to say he is really looking forward to WashU.

Welcome to Wash U!
