Wash U Scholarships!

Er…I posted this in the other thread too (“Scholarship Notification”), but I just got a call for Compton. Maybe we should merge threads/start a new one?

You mention Rodriguez and Ervin are no longer minority scholarships. Do you know the % on non-minority candidates who received them in recent years? Do they provide any of these scholarships to white kids who have led numerous diversity programs and demonstrated significant community service?

I received a business scholarship from WashU last year (I’m a freshmen) and, at least for business, they really care about your essays and recs. They will have those things memorized by the time you come to campus to interview. For each department, they look for characteristics that suit that field. For business, they really care about your critical thinking skills. They probably also want you to think of ways to make profit when presented with situations but that I am not sure on.

For the Moog Scholarship, how many finalists are usually chosen? I know that 4 get ful and probably 4 get half. Would there be more than 8 finalists chosen for Moog (bio and chem)?

ST2 - How does applying (or not applying) for a merit scholarship at Wash U impact yur chances for regular decision acceptance? Does not applying look bad?

Bighurt - those posts are 3-4 years old. The posters probably are not around any longer. Also try not to post the same question 3-4 times. Better to bump the one thread if you are not getting responses.
