Is anyone transferring to washu? I hav tried to start a thread like this under transfers but have gotten no response. Let me know!

im transferring to washu, you are too?
but im always inaccessible to internet b/c im taking a GRE course and i didn’t bring my computer w/ me

that sucks haha yeah i am too. you goin to the transfer weekend? where u comin from etc.

lol, im from china, so im not going to transfer weekend. which school did you transfer from?

im transferring from ucsb

I’m transferring this Fall, I’m coming from Lehigh University in PA

I’ll be at the transfer weekend thing…I guess I’ll see you there if you’re going too

Do you have facebook?

nice, no i deleted it for the summer. if u meet a guy named scott, its prob me. why did u pick washu, where else did u get in?

@davidthegoose, i think you are gonna be english major right? i believed i saw your post before.
i think someone should create a facebook group now. i cannot do that b/c china block facebook…

Yeah that’s me

I picked Wash U because of its English program and because of its great location. I probably would have transferred to Cornell but I didn’t really want to live in Ithaca

haha cornell ilr was my number one but everyone said i wouldve hated ithaca… i hear its not that great

lol, i got into cornell too. but i dont want to pay soooo much money…

I am still considering a transfer to Wash U. Would some of you transfers mind posting stats so that I’d know if I have a chance? Thanks.

i came from ucsb and will be a jr
3.75 gpa
two research internships, worked for deloitte and wellsfargo
had a ton of quality ec’s
two great letters of rec

I had a 3.95 GPA my first year

I also got two quality letters of recommendation from professors in the English department and wrote a pretty good essay, I think. Not many EC’s but I guess that didn’t matter.

Best of luck

i had a 3.85 + gpa when applied
didn’t sumbit any recommendations
i believed my essay is pretty good tho

Is it hard to transfer if you have even a single ‘c’ on a transcript? What does Wash U look for in a transfer student?

It depends on the rest of your transcript, what subject you got the c in, and what ec’s you have.

Washu is looking for a dedicated student who has a level head. They want to see you have taken advantage of the opportunities at your current university, can handle a hard courseload, and can clearly express your reasons for transfer. You also want to show how WashU will benefit you specifically and what you can offer to the school if you are admitted.
