Washing Brights

So I have a lot of different bright clothes/towels. How should I wash these? Should I just use my hands or the washer and dryer at school? Also what about colors like yellow, orange, and light blue. Do I wash them separately or are bright clothes just grouped together?

If they’re new, wash separately with only like colors.

If they’ve been washed before, chances are they won’t bleed. You should still try and wash with like colors, but you shouldn’t have problems with a machine. I use warm water for everything but whites and towels, for which I use hot.

If you want your colors to remain bright, wash them in COLD water only. Dry on the low setting.

I wash reds and oranges only with like colors the first time they are washed-- and dark wash jeans usually totally by themselves the first time because sometimes they bleed. After that I wash EVERYTHING together in cold water unless it is delicate, whichcase it goes in a mesh lingerie bag and still gets thrown in. I have NEVER damaged anything doing laundry in this way.

Well the thing is the washers at my school only have the settings Whites, Colors, Brights, and three other things (I think they are knitted, delicates, and something). So I mean I would assume the three settings are automatically adjusted for those colors to do cold water, low dry, etc., but I’m concerned about stuff such as washing my orange hand/face towel with my light blue polo. I’m not 100 percent sure if the polo was washed because I bought it before the semester started and my mom may or may not have washed it.

We have Whites, Colors, Brights, Woolen, and something else. I use Woolen because it is the coldest water. I don’t remember how the others stack up, there’s a diagram on the lid of our washers, but I remember whites is the hottest. Then the dryers have delicates, perm press, and something else. I use the something else, I can’t remember what it is. But I pretty much just wear t shirts and jeans and anything that stands any chance of shrinking does not go in the dryer, so I can get away with frying my clothes. I’d pick delicates for the dryer setting if I was worried. If you have never washed the orange towel before just wash it with other orange/red stuff the first time, maybe twice if you’re worried. You ought to be able to mix them once it’s been washed a few times, the dyes won’t bleed forever.
