My ultimate plan is to become a doctor. I thought I had it all figured out, the college, the major, but lately I have become more and more interested in politics and have started flirting with the idea of double majoring in Political Science and Chemistry. I’m pretty conservative, so I don’t want to go to an extreme left school and a little research told me that W&L was one of the rare colleges that had a conservative Political Science department and a high medical acceptance rate. Is this all true? How plausible would it be to get a double major at W&L? Also are there any other colleges I might be interested in?
Yes, but it is a tough grading school - no grade inflation that I saw. Lots of kids are able to double major with the way the requirements are set up. D wasn’t only because she changed her careers goals slightly. And there was no pysch minor but she ended up with lots of hours in that and in music in addition to her major. D had friends that were successful in getting into med/dental school with all types of degrees - music, English, math, etc.
In every election year, they do a mock convention for the party out of power and have an amazing track record of picking the eventual challenger. Huge participation. Especially fun if you’re a political junky.
