Washington Transfer Student

What type of things does the University of Washington Seattle look for in Washington state community college transfer students? (i.e. gpa, sat scores, extracurricular activities, etc.) How competitive is it?

When I was on one of their “Transfer Thursdays” they told us that one of the most important factors is your readiness for your major. Of course, they will care about your GPA, they won’t care about your test scores if you have >40 transf. credits and just like everywhere they will look at your ECs. It’s quite competitive.

Also, what about high school grades? Do they care about that after >40 credits?

It’s 45 credits, and no. High school is supposedly not considered at that point.

No, they don’t care about your HS grades as long as you satisfy their distribution requirements. That’s what they need your HS transcript for - not to look at your grades.

Okay thanks. also, I read somewhere on here that UW doesn’t take as many students from Bellevue college???

Bellevue College is overwhelmingly the most frequent school to transfer to UW from. This could be that they both have around the same number of students (about 40,000), so Bellevue’s rate may not be comparable to another transfer school, but I don’t have the statistics to back it up.

They actually have a direct bus, Metro 271, from Bellevue College to UW.
