@ChicagoSportsFn salute to your daughter-no mean feat to get into West Point and to commit at least 5 years of her life as a commissioned officer.
Do you think tuition will just keep rising? I’ve heard it’s flattening because the number of available students is going to be dwindling as the millennial generation ages out of college. The youngest millennials are turning 23 this year. The sticker price will continue going up, but the number and amount of scholarships might actually increase at an even faster rate.
I just got the snail mail letter from WashU saying that tuition will be rising.
Yeah, as I said, the sticker price will continue going up.
@Hamurtle We did not enjoy getting the price increase letter! Funny, when I went there a million years ago, we paid $25,000, and that was really high for the times. However, hearing my son’s happy voice every weekend telling me how much he loves WashU makes it all worth it.
Best of luck to the ED2 applicants! I really hope you hear soon!
I wonder how many families prepay all four years to lock in the Freshman-level price tag.
Anyone here also have a current student at WashU and a second student applying ED2? If so, I have a question for you…
will they tell us a specific release date before?? did they for ED1?
@goooodvibes As far as I can tell from a quick look at the ED discussion thread, the answer is no.
Their first indication was on decision day an email stating that there was an update to their admissions status.
And it happened on the 13th, a couple of days before the “by” date. So maybe ED2 decisions will be posted next Wednesday the 13th!
And it happened at 5:30 EST.
sorry to be speculative but if emory and tufts ed2 came out late last week do we think washU would release early this week??? ah!
I have a feeling that next week should be the announcement date for ED2. Thursday/Friday should be the potential days. So everybody should start checking email around 5:00 Central Time. 2/14 should be a fun day for announcements.
RD decisions should be roughly around 3/10 or so-WashU spring break is that week.
WashU’s website says decision release date for EDII Feb 15th. So unless they decide to release earlier, don’t be checking every hour!
It says by Feb 15, so it could be sooner. But I agree, don’t be checking every hour.

WashU usually released decision on Thursday, so most likely 14th will be the day.
I think it is going to come early in the week. Right before ED1 was released, the name of the applicant I interviewed (as an alum) disappeared. I just checked and the names of the ED2 applicants are gone. Hmm . . .
But of course this is pure speculation! Good luck to all!
Names Disappeared from what?
I assume that WashU APAP alumni interviewers have access to a database of who they interviewed. If the list of names disappeared, then decisions have been made.
If my son doesn’t get in, we’re going to be spending his spring break visiting Rochester and Case. I really don’t want to have to do that!
Well if it does come b4 15th, I hope it not be on the 14th. It would really suck to find out I’ve been rejected on my birthday
