Washington University in St. Louis interview?

I am a high school junior visiting Wash U. I signed up for the on-campus interview as an opportunity for a one-on-one with someone at the college. Are they supposed to be geared toward those who have already applied/admissions?

help please?

My D applied to Wash U two years ago. They are meticulous in tracking contacts/visits with the school, and it is generally believed that demonstrated interest is very important to them.

Unless they’ve changed, Wash U grants one interview during the process. My D, as you, visited in Spring Break Junior year and took her interview then. It was with a student, btw. During the interview, they tried very hard to gauge her interest, asking whether she was going to apply ED.

FWIW – afterwards, she thought that Junior year was a great time to have the interview. She could honestly say that Wash U was one of her top choices, which is why she made it a point to visit this school first (Interest, Interest, Interest). She also said, quite honestly, that it was early in the process and that she felt that she had to look at more places before she knew where/if she would apply ED.

To answer your question – IMO, this is a good time to take the interview (unless you’re positive you’ll be back later in the process).

End of day – she applied RD, was accepted, but decided to go elsewhere.

Hope this is of some help.
