WashU in St. Louis Class of 2025 — Regular Decision

ohh I did not get a fafsa change… hopefully that doesnt mean anything

Same :frowning:

now im nervous hahahah

i really don’t think it means anything either way honestly. if you did get it, something was wrong with your fafsa and they needed to fix it. if you didn’t get it, they looked at your fafsa and everything was fine!

Just wondering. CSS is filed with WashU, so what is the point for them to correct FAFSA? Also how could they correct FAFSA as FAFSA is handled by gov.?

i think (at least for my situation) they made changes to my fafsa based on my css. i believe there might have been a difference between them and so they federally verified it and then were able to go into my fafsa and fix it since i added them to it.

Wow, sounds like the university is powerful to get into studentaid.gov to modify data.

i think any university can if you add them to it, it’s basically just them verifying with the federal gov that everything is correct.

Guys, I promise it means nothing whether you did get a correction or not, it becomes easy to worry but we got this!

Well congrats on your acceptance. This really looks like you are accepted.

With tens of thousands of apps they would not take the time to even look at FAFSA unless they are interested.

Once again I do not believe this is an acceptance, only because I have had two schools prior who have done the same, and only we will officially know until the admissions decisions are released. Let’s not stir up worry and wait for the decisions at its release time.

Please I understand it can be very easy to jump to a positive conclusion, however in a time of uncertainty we do not officially know anything. When the decisions are released we will post our results, please note that schools and their respective financial aid offices work SEPERATELY.

EDIT) If you did get a notification of an alteration on the FAFSA or did not, there is no upper hand regardless of where you stand, this happened in another college forum, all students got different outcomes

exactly! i really don’t think it “reveals” anything about acceptance and/or rejection, i think it honestly is just something most schools do to check financial aid. their offices are completely separate and i believe they create a financial package for every applicant, no matter if they are accepted or not.

Also I find it unlikely that WashU would make changes to the FAFSA, my family has had a lot of issues with FAFSA-CSS discrepancies, and in none of the 3 to 4 cases have any of the schools gone in and fixed the issue themselves, we have had to. So idk what it would mean for WashU to make a revision because I was unaware that they had such power.

who knows what/how it means but i do think that accepted students would be getting this notification.

it can happen to any student. both offices work seperately.

yes but at this point decisions are final. why would they bother messing with fafsa for rejected students. im sitting here expecting rejection as mine was not changed.

definitely understandable, I am rooting for you, seriously don’t be bummed out yet! Keep a positive outlet, you worked hard

Stay positive! It could just mean everything was correct with your FAFSA! By no means does this mean rejection, get that out of your head. I only meant it’s a good sign for those being corrected, in no way would it mean rejection from those not.
