My D got in both, tough decision!
Haas is not direct admit as a freshman. Students finished their prerequisites first and then apply to the school for the last 2 years.
@Hamurtle She got in this new special program Haas business school Global management program which will start in summer and fall in London

Her accept letter said “We are pleased to welcome you to the Haas business school Global management program…”, so I assume she is in Haas.
I think prestige and program-strength wise the two are very comparable. I think the deciding factor should fit.
I agree that “fit” is quite important when deciding between two great universities. Academically there is no bad choice here, nor any “just okay” choice. Personally, I really liked Washington U StL when I visited a number of years ago.
Both incredible choices you can’t go wrong with. Fit and location should be deciding factors. How far away from home do you want him to go? And if those don’t matter then WashU has a better quality of life with the incredible forms and food. Also you get more attention from the administration/professors due to the fact that it is smaller.
Location and cost are not issues for us. WashU is about 5hrs driving but we have been living in bay areas for years so a lot of friends and relatives there. We love WashU campus but we also enjoy the life in ca.
I mean, we can’t exactly make a decision for you. What would be some deciding factors that would influence your decision?
Olin is pretty much recognized as one of the top tier business schools in the nation, although it’s not up to the level of Wharton. However, it is very easy to make friends who will help you all the way, whether it be in studies or outside ventures. Olin is pretty tough at the beginning, especially management 100, and I still don’t know why. The class average for an exam in general is 65% (at least in my year), but the curves are sometimes generous. Nonetheless, I learned a lot and I think every class is worthwhile.
@wingjuer On an earlier thread you posted WashU was Dream school. Seems like an easy choice.
I don’t mean to offend some people here, but Haas is way more prestigious than Olin. The Haas network is bigger, richer and stronger. I like Olin I think it’s a fantastic school, but Haas is just in a notch above Olin.
