Does anyone remember the percentage of spots that WashU Med School reserves for its undergrad body? ( I recall it was 20 people, but not sure of % or class size for the WashU med school)

Also, what are the current stats for WashU premed, regarding percentage of overall that gets into a med school? I know it is 96% for GPA 3.5 or above, so how hard is it to get a 3.5 at washU?

Lastly, are classes curved? Or do some classes curve and others don't?

I'm not sure the exact statistics, but I remember from the premed seminar during my visit that unlike other medical colleges, WashU does reserve a relatively sizeable number of spots for its undergrad. For other undergrad schools, they reserve an average of two spots.

Mm, actually, Washu Med does not reserve spots for its undergrads. The only undergrads who you might say get "reserved" spots are in programs like the University Scholars etc that basically give them the spot in the WashU med school under strict requirements that they maintain a 3.8 GPA minimum and a whole slew of other stuff. Youll usually find these students stuck in the library, because as youll find, pre med for most people at WashU is not a walk in the park, of course for some its a breeze, but just be forewarned, going to WashU as an undergrad doesnt mean youll have a better chance at getting into WashuMed. Im tempted ahah to say thats its actually harder because WashU premed is very competitive, and I mean very. Well youll find out soon enough I guess, good luck though. ~

What about people in the Medicine and Society Program? I hear if you get in then you have a competitive edge in the process or something. Anyways, I hear it's hard work tho...I am planning on applying for it next year but I'll have to see whether it'll be too much on my courseload.

gl7, also are you a premed student yourself? How are your premed peers doing? What IS hard about premed and why is WashU so famous for its premed if it's hard to do premed there?

Sorry for my long list of questions. I'm actually thinking whether it'll be better for me to do premed or just scientific research.
