Is there anyone out there that got waitlisted by WashU and then accepted into ND?

I know this happened to my sister, and I'm looking for any sort of correlation.

I would attend ND over WashU in a heartbeat obviously.

Same happened to me - I did not really try to get off the waitlist from Washington University, though it may not have helped. I have heard that WashU is a stat driven school (especially SAT).

So you did get into ND?

That happened to me last year. :)

Well, considering that they have a large overlap in their applicant pool, it’s likely that alot of students are in similar situations.

Yeah I got into ND.

Awesome. I’ve been bred to love ND as you can imagine. What with my sister currently attending and my numerous trips to South Bend. So, I really want to get into ND. I would attend ND over any school.

As I put it on the ‘Final Note’ section of the common app supplement: “The feeling of nostalgia I experience when leaving ND is akin to the feeling one gets from the loss of a loved one.”

That part actually brought my mom to tears, lol.

My D was rejected at Wash U and has been asked to the Reilly visitation weekend in April at ND. I have no idea what Wash U is looking for, but after 8 months of limbo from Wash U, my daughter realized last month that Wash U was not the school for her. She wants more from her college experience than WashU is able to give. I know some may not like this statement, but I am happy with her decision.

I love your statement, personally. Forget WashU!

I got accepted to Notre Dame early action but I just found out I got into Wash. U, which quite honestly took me by surprise. I’ve been high on Notre Dame for a while now but this throws a wrench in everything. It’s a good problem to have I guess.

I on the other hand got accepted to Wash U and denied from Notre Dame.
I guess it can go either way.
Notre Dame was my top choice tho. :(

My D got accepted into both.

Found out I was wait-listed at WashU! but would got to ND in a heart beat!

I got wait-listed at WashU and probably got into Notre Dame (I’m going off since they invited me to spring visitation and reasoning they wouldn’t pay hundreds of dollars to fly a kid in and reject him).

So yes, it can happen, just as anything can happen with these college admissions.

In some ways, I think if the officers get tired of reading them, they just throw names in a hat. xD

My daughter got an invitation to the Reilly weekend in April (RD) I called the admissions and asked, their answer was that she would be getting a formal acceptance letter when they all to out, but yes she was accepted.

bahh I got accepted at WashU and waitlisted at ND

ND is still my number one though
