I am a High School senior, currently studying in a CBSE (Indian) curriculum school in Dubai. I wanted to know what are the specifications for the above schools for Mechanical engineering .

Also :-

1) Whether the degree offered by these Universities will be able to get me a good job in the U.S.

2)Do these colleges look at High school average . (for Mechanical engineering )

3)What is the minimum% required to get admission these Uni's ?

4)How is their job placements ?

Thank You

1) Lots of Waterloo & Toronto engineering graduates work in the U.S., some rising to senior management levels.

2) High school average is one of the main admission criteria

3) CBSE Senior (XII) results for English, Physics, Chemistry & Math with an average of 80%+ would be required for Waterloo (or predicted results). Probably similar for Toronto.

4) After graduation? Typically 90-95% employed within 6 months of graduation.

I suggest you pick Waterloo
it is much smaller than Toronto so you get to know your professors better. It is also an engineering school, by reputation, so engineers get most of the school’s resources

1) Yes, you needn’t at all be worried about this.

2) If you don’t have the required minimum grades, you won’t get accepted. And if your grades are dangerously near the cut-off, you probably won’t get accepted.

3) Check their websites or call their admissions offices for precise numbers.

4) Best in Canada.

The other thing you should note is that Waterloo’s specialty is computer engineering; Toronto is ranked higher in mechanical engineering. Also, Toronto is home to tonnes of South Asians (if that matters any to you) and is a much more exciting place than Kitchener-Waterloo.
