I suffered an extremely poor high school GPA (2.8) as I dealt with some issues, but have gotten my act together at my Community College (Top 10 in the country). I currently have a 3.8 GPA with one B, and am on track for a 3.9 GPA by the end of the spring semester and will have 32 credits completed. What are my chances at schools like University of Southern California (my dream school), University of Miami, Tulane, University of Michigan, and UNC? Is my high school transcript going to bite me in the ass? I have some solids ECs as well, and I believe my essays are stellar. Thanks
If you’re applying while enrolled in CC then they shouldn’t request your high school transcript. They might ask for an ACT or SAT, but you said you got that together. Usually they have high regards for CC because it shows you want to improve and clearly have (upward trend). You should be fine. USC might still be hard to get into, but that is just the school. It also is expensive so make sure you know what you are doing financially.

Yeah, from what I’ve seen I think it’s feasible for you to get in to USC. They won’t care that much about your HS grades/transcript, so as long as your test scores are alright you should be pretty much good to go. If your ECs are good and so are essays, you’ve got a good shot at anywhere you’re applying.
