I'm taking AP Stat and AP Psych senior year. Both classes have reputations for being "joke" classes? Will taking them hurt my chances at the top schools?

BTW, I''ll also be taking Calc BC, AP Econ, and AP Language&Composition.
Also, how important is it to take another year of science? I've already taken Bio, Chem, and Physics.
I will probably apply as an Econ/History major.

Are they considered "joke" classes at your school or are you under the impression that they are considered joke classes everywhere? At my school AP Psych is really rigorous. If you're taking Calc, it probably won't matter if you take Stats. You'll need it anyway for an econ major. As long as you do well in the classes and are prepared for the AP test, then it shouldn't matter at top colleges.

On the whole colleges just want to see that you've completed the Bio/Chem/Phys track. You're not majoring in science so it should be fine.

At my school, psych and state aren't particularly rigorous. CC posters seem to generally feel the same way.

of course it won't hurt your chances...will it help your chances?....maybe, but it definitely won't hurt your chances.

I agree it won't hurt. Is there anything else that you can take? In general, stay with solid academic subjects: math, language, science, english, social science.

I already took the foreign language AP. I might be able to take another year of the same foreign language, though (post-AP class haha). Well, if those classes don't hurt my chances...
