I have a job interview tomorrow at McDonald, and I am not sure if what I wear will be appropriate. I only have jeans and t-shirts or polo shirts. I bought dress pant and dress shirt at Target yesterday, but they didn't fit me. My body is so small that even the smallest size they have is still big for me.

So is it okay if I just wear jean and polo? I get that many people think it's too casual and shows that I don't care enough, but that's all I have.

A job interview is a job interview, no matter where it is, and you should treat McDonald’s as if you’re interviewing at a high-end restaurant.

I would suggest you wear a nice collared shirt and dress pants, but you don’t have those.
Wear a pair of nice-fitting jeans. No rips, no skinny jeans, nothing that would distract the interviewer. A pair of straight-cut, dark wash, hemmed jeans that don’t drag on the floor would do. If you wear a polo, TUCK IT IN. Wear a leather belt if you have one. Wear the best shoes that you have. If it’s cold, wear a sweater or a jacket that adds to your look. If you’re a female, wear a little bit of makeup; don’t look trashy, look pulled together.

In the end, no matter where you work, you are asking someone to pay you for doing them a service. Are they going to hire someone that looks like they don’t give a damn, or someone who looks like they gave an effort even though they didn’t have much to work with?

Clean and clothes that fit (new jeans, not your favorites) would be fine.

I would not freak out about not dressing up.

And not fitting into the smallest size they have? Have you considered children’s sizes? My sons fit into both childrens and adult sizes, and the children’s sizes seem to fit them better even though one is almost 18.

I have a relative who is a little person, under 4’ tall as an adult, so don’t complain about being small if you are over 4’.

I would say no. If you wear something nicer, it sets you apart from all the other people applying for jobs at McDonalds. At least wear khakis and a polo/button down shirt.

dark jeans are fine, as long as they are not ripped or faded or jeggings. Pick your best shirt and if you live in a land of ighy weather ahem then wear a good sweater over it. clean, confident and smiley is what mcdonald’s wants. When you’re working they tell you it’s a part of your job so smiling is good. I work there, so I know.
