Berkeleytime: an awesome way to discover courses

Hey all, this is a project I've been working on this past summer. It allows you to apply filter through thousands of courses by department, breadths, enrollment, etc, and then sort the results by average grade, open seats, and much more.

For instance, you could apply the AC, Arts and Literature, 4-unit filters, and see courses that match all three. Also comes with up-to-date scheduling and enrollment information. Thought it would be awesome if you guys could take it for a test-drive, and give some feedback!

Where did you get the average grades from? I’m looking at Anthro 121C on courserank and it only shows unofficial grades where only 3 students submitted them. I don’t think that’s a good indication. However, it’s a very good idea. I wish this was around when I was a freshman.

edit: Yeah, it seems like the majority of the classes that have an average grade of an A are unofficial. I wouldn’t trust it.

The grade distributions are NOT user-generated. They are calculated directly from data given by the university. It’s the same data used by schedulebuilder, though we may calculate average a little differently.

Where do you get the course data from? Did you have to ask the school?
