for that matter, I am as clueless about things like orientation starting on March 15 but the notify rd March 31 as I am about the the purpose of self-reporting mid-year grades.

The oddest part is this....other schools posted/mailed out decisions so that when you log on to their website, you don't access admitted student info if you aren't admitted. It is strange that UNC allows you to see all of the info for accepted students even though you haven't been accepted?

the unc admissions process as a whole is honestly way too strenuous, we can only hypothesize as to the real reason for self-reporting mid year grades... i too got the email too but what if it isnt a positive thing? what people on cc really have the authority to tell us whether or not it is? idk, im sick of waiting, too... only a little over a month to go, i say we just try and wait it out as best as possible

oh and by admissions process i meant them screwing with us by letting us access admitted student areas on the website and sending out nonsensical emails

Stressful, confusing and way too time-consuming. When I hear teachers talk about how they only had to write a paragraph for an application and applying to one or two schools with little thought to it all, I wonder how in the world it got so complicated.

Maybe a little revamping is the way to go. I will get into trouble for saying this but I wonder if all of the "process" isn't a little outdated and ready for a change. Seems like we need to make it less complicated. Does this whole wait until March 31 thing really make sense? Don't they already know who the 99 out of 100 are that are getting accepted. So let the 1 that they don't know about wait. Why everyone? And before the girl that gets onto everyone gets onto me, your comment about people make the decisions, not machines. think again. A machine graded my SAT and ACT and makes up my AP exams. And truth be known, apps that are sent in with low GPAS and low SATS are probably given no thought at all! And last, there is a formula for admissions into schools. I believe you get in based on the formula unless you are the one of many, many apps that has something that the school needs.
