My sister’s best friend is getting married and she told me she’ll be very offended if I don’t attend, so now I need a nice dress, and she is a very fashionable person. I don’t know what’s an acceptable level of fancy for this situation. my sister will be in the wedding party, but I don’t think I have an important role in this, so it’s a little confusing. what do I wear that’s not offensively casual but also not too presumptuous?
Summer spring fall or winter? What is the wedding venue?
Ask your sister. She knows lots about the wedding and your clothes. Ask her to suggest something already in your closet. Depending. On how fancy the adding, you may need to dress fancier. You want to fit in and be ignored by other guests. Therefore, I would avoid something black or red or another loud color. Avoid both sexy and dreary. Overall, look nice and approachable.
^^^A nice black dress is perfectly fine for a formal wedding. In fact I see more women in black dresses at formal events than any other color. A"little black dress" is a staple of a woman’s wardrobe. If the wedding at a beach or an informal like that then I’d avoid black but other than that IMO a black dress is fine.
