Weed, what are your thoughts

No but that wouldnt be my opinion now would it?
My opinion is that weed has a very negative effect on the body
i just chose to say it makes you stupid. me saying it makes you stupid could mean many things. it my case it meant weed makes you do stupid things.
now feel free to respond to it but arguing is just plain rude.

I never smoked it and I plan on never doing it. Lots of people at my school smoke it (I live in Oregon, go figure lol). I feel that it should be made illegal.

What do you think about weed? A lot of people that smoke it don't realize how bad it is. They go as far as to make up lies (which they think are the truth) to justify marijuana use. I don't understand the people that center their lives around marijuana.
Have you ever tried it, would you ever try? No and no.
How many people at your school smoke it? A lot, and I mean a lot.
Should we legalize it or recriminalize it? I don't know. People will do it anyway.

I tried it once, didn't like it that much. It tasted nice and I felt good afterwards, but I sure as hell won't touch any weed around here, because I somehow doubt that it would be just weed.
I don't care if others smoke frequently, the same way I don't care much about others drinking. Used too much both can impair your thinking abilities(could kill you, too), but well a lot of things can.
I always find it interesting, that alcohol is allowed and weed isn't(in most countries). I don't get that logic.

people who publicize they do weed are annoying. (most high schoolers) it's not anything I would be caught with, unless it was prescribed to me (cancer survivor)

stop saying weed is more effective than morphine as a painkiller because that is just wrong. I have had both and there is no comparison

[/quote]

The reason morphine is a more effective pain killer than smoking weed is that morphine is an opiate derivative created for the purpose of painkilling; weed is an unrefined collection of cannabinoids. Physiologically, the body is much more sensitive to cannabinoids than it is to opiates, and cannabinoids are not addicting. It is a commonly held medical theory (but not tested yet, b/c cannabinoids are still scheduled) that certain cannabinoid derivatives when injected could be excellent local anesthetics (like Novocaine, which is a cocaine derivative), and possibly good general painkillers. Weed itself is not a great painkiller, but it has the potential to provide the medical community with the be all/end all pain killer.

And i find it really ironic that weed is a topic on a site like this where half of the people want to get into top colleges and boarding schools lol but thats just me!

I know right ?! Because nobody smokes weed at top colleges... KUDOS

edit: This thread serves as an amusing litmus test, well not technically by definition, but kinda sorta in its own warped way

This is a stupid thread to start in this forum because I'm willing to bet that most people on CC haven't even tried weed or have only smoked a couple of times. And they probably didn't get high/didn't understand their high the first time. Not good enough to make a valid judgment on something, sorry. Thus why most posts have been against weed so far.
Don't knock it 'til you try it...Multiple times.

I'd have to disagree with you hyacinth, as far as trying it multiple times. I'd say try it until you get high and then make a judgment if you want to judge it from that standpoint. People can judge it all they want if they don't try it either.

But as far as multiple times go, I don't know about you, but most people I know HAVE gotten high their first time... but then again, we smoke haze here.

hyacinth, have you taken the time to actually LOOK at any of the posts? The majority of us are not against weed... only like 3 or 4 people are.

Btw, you don't necessarily need to try something multiple times to have an opinion about whether it's good or not. For example, I have never tried coke, but there is a good chance that it's bad for you.

What do you think about weed? I mean... I don't do it and I don't plan on ever doing it. I am not against people that do it, it is just a personal choice for me not to do it.

Have you ever tried it, would you ever try? No and no.
How many people at your school smoke it? I don't think an EXTRAORDINARY amount, but probably like 25% tried it before and 10% do it regularly..
Should we legalize it or recriminalize it? I don't know.

I smoke weed during breaks from my school (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, and all summer) because my school has a random drug testing program that I particpate in. There are always ways to get around it, but I don't chance it. Even with this program, about 60% of my school smokes. I don't think marijuana is addictive and I believe it is less harmful than cigarettes (all from first hand experience). It should be legalized.
