I know UF adds .5 for Honors classes, but I am confused as to how this works. For example, mty school gives out letters as grades , so if I recived a B+, what does that translate to for UF calculation?

I would say any B is a 3.0 and with weighting is a 3.5.

it would be a 3.5 just like a regular B...i don't think they care about +/-

Yes, UF doesn't use +/- in the calculations so B+ is a B. Which is a 3.0. That B would 3.0 regular class, 3.5 in honors, 4.0 in an AP/IB/AICE.

Need an explanation of what is an A or B. We don't ever see letter grades on report cards.

We have the following scale for regular courses and then +.5 for honors and +1 for AP/IB.

97+ 4.0
93-96 3.8
90-92 3.6
87-89 3.4
84-86 3.2
81-83 3.0
77-79 2.8
73-76 2.6
71-72 2.4
70 2.0

Less than 70 is failing.

So, if it is A = 4, 4.5 Honors and 5.0 for AP/IB, what does UF consider an A or B?

90+ is an A
80-89 is a B
70-79 is a C
60-69 is a D
0-59 is an F

It is important to remember that even though UF recalculates every GPA, they DO in fact take into account the school you go to and its curriculum. Even though each is recalculated to the UF scale, not all GPAs are created equal, even still.
